Binding and Finishing Services:
  • 3-Hole Drilling and 3-Ring Binders
  • Staples or Clips
  • Staples can be placed in several positions on a page (1-Left, 1-Right, 2-Left, 2-Right, 2-Top). We also offer saddlestitching, which is two staples in the center of your stacked and folded document. It is often used for event programs or booklets. Both binder clips and paper clips are often used for frequently changed or draft documents.
  • Covers
  • We normally stock clear, semi-transparent, and black vinyl covers. Please contact us if you have a special request.
  • Velo Binds
  • This bind is a thin strip of plastic that heat seals the document. Velo binds are often seen on legal documents because they are more difficult to unbind and rebind. Velo binds securely binds books up to 2" thick.
  • GBC Binds
  • This bind is a fingered comb, sometimes referred to as a 'cookbook' bind. Comb bind is our large capacity bind which can hold documents up to 2".
  • Coil Binds
  • This bind is a single piece of plastic that winds through the pages of your document. Plastic coil creates documents that will lay completely flat and can be opened back to back. This type of binding is very similar to the spiral notebooks you may have used in school. Coil bind is recommended for documents up to 1/2" although we have the capability to bind up to 1 1/2" thick. One disadvantage of coil binding is they sometimes 'walk-up' the bind as you turn your pages.
  • Wire Binds
  • This bind is a twin loop pressed together tightly after your document is inserted. A wire bind creates documents that lay flat and wrap around for easy reading. This type of bind is generally recommended for documents up to 1" in thickness and is considered a presentation quality wire.
  • ACCO/DEPO Binds
  • This bind is typically used for specifications where you may need to frequently change sheets because it is the easiest bind to add and remove pages. An Acco bind consists of a silver spike that folds over across the back of the document margin and fastens with sliding clips.
  • Fastback Tape Binds
  • This bind uses a hot glue method to bind a tape to the back of documents. It is very strong and looks appealing.
  • Compound Glue
  • An adhesive compound, brushed onto the side of a stack of paper. It is often used to make notepads with tear-away sheets
  • Laminating
  • Laminating creates a permanent, clear gloss finish over a document to provide a crisp presentation, and/or protect a document from wear.
  • Folding
  • Put large things in small places, or create a page turn, folding is a regular requirement for many different types of documents.
  • Cutting
  • Cut those large or full-bleed documents down to size.
  • Collating/Inserting
  • Get things sorted out... collating and inserting can help get and keep things in their proper place.
Scanning:
  • Scanning to PDF (Acrobat) or TIFF (Doculex)
  • Each page is scanned with careful attention to page order and quality, using either Adobe Acrobat (for formatting and correcting the PDF, the creation of bookmarks and/or links) or Doculex (for a TIFF image database, which can be exported to other programs such as Summation and Concordance).
  • OCR'ing
  • OCR'ing is an additional step in scanning a volume of documents that captures the actual text of each page, as opposed to simply providing you with a image of each page. This allows you to search for specific words in a document.
  • TIFF Image Numeric Labeling
  • Similar to Bates Labeling, this process places a permanent number with an optional prefix and/or suffix on each TIFF image.
  • Export to Index and Search software
